Hey, people! It’s been quite a while since I last wrote. Well, March is here, the third month in the year. I have been thinking of a new theme for my writing. If the last time I wrote under a theme: “Another day, another lesson learned”, this time I’m coming back with something new -> “Another day, another random question to ask”. Let me share the background of why I chose this theme for my writing.
Every Thursday I have a scheduled lunch date with a class of twelve graders. While eating together, we like to have something to talk about. Well, actually I like to have something to talk about and that something must be interesting, of course. So, I started to think of one interesting question to ask them each week. It’s always fun listening to the various answers from various thoughts of different students. From that comes up the idea to write them down and share them through my blog.
Okay, enough for the background explanation. Now let’s start with the first question. It was last week’s question:
“If you knew you would die tomorrow, what would you do?”
Ha! I bet you’ve got so many things racing in your mind by now. What would you do if you knew that your life is going to end tomorrow? Like, yes, tomorrow! Hmm. I was thinking of what I would do if I knew that. But one thing for sure, I would wish that I didn’t know that I would die tomorrow. Let me explain why. I don’t know, I just don’t want to be told that it’s coming, because I know it’s coming. You know, people may say that they would do good deeds to their loved ones and people around them, say sorry for all the wrongs they have done in the past, and just cliche answer like that. I mean like, why waiting till the last day of your life that you’re doing all those things? But if so, let us all think that tomorrow is our last day.
To do good deeds, we do not have to wait till the last day of our life. To say sorry to people that we have wronged does not have to wait till we’re dying. We do not need to be dying to say that we love the people we love.
Well, easy to say but hard to apply. But we can try to do it by now. We do not know when this long journey is going to end. We have no idea where or how we’re going to end this, either. Knowing that is not our job, after all.
