I remember one scene of the movie 13 going on 30, when Jenna Rink (portrayed by Jennifer Garner) asked her mom (portrayed by Kathy Baker),
If you were given one do-over, anything in your life, what would it be?
We have past. We have things in our life we regret doing. We make mistakes. We are simply human with all limitations. But there are those fatal mistakes and big stupid decisions or actions that we did in the past that we would like to erase or fix. Question like this is just too hard to answer because there are just too many things we would like to fix. There are too many mistakes we would like to redo. There are just too many things we would like to change.
Lesson of the day: there is no such thing as going back to the past. There is no such possibility to get back to the time that we can redo all the mistakes. It’s all too imaginary to think of any chance to ever get that. Now what? Stand up tall today. Nobody’s perfect, we all know that. Take your commitment to never repeat all the same mistakes ever again. There is nothing we can do about the past. But there is surely something you can do today. Forgive yourself. Seek forgiveness from those you have wronged. That’s your chance.
Be thankful of being awoken from your good sleep this morning. It’s another chance to do better. It’s another chance to be better. Get away from the shadow of the past. All the mistakes you’ve done in the past will have to teach you something and help you learn to be who you are right now. This is a new day, a new chance is given to you. Are you gonna take it?
Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. –Psalm 90:12
